Privacy Policy – bHack (Ballarat Hackerspace App)

Effective date: 11 April 2026

This is the privacy policy for bHack, the mobile application developed and published by Ballarat Hackerspace (“we”, “us”, “our”) on Google Play and other app stores. bHack is developed by Brett James on behalf of Ballarat Hackerspace Incorporated, the entity named in the app’s Google Play listing. This policy describes how we handle information when you use our mobile app and related services, and is intended to support app store listings and user transparency. If anything here conflicts with a platform requirement, follow the stricter rule and contact us so we can align this page.

What we do not collect in our apps

Our mobile apps do not collect personally identifiable information from you for our own use. We do not ask the app to harvest your name, email, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or other personal data into a Ballarat Hackerspace-controlled database simply because you installed or opened the app.

Third-party service: TidyHQ

Some features (for example member sign-in or membership-related actions) may use TidyHQ, an independent service. When you use those features, you interact with TidyHQ under their terms and privacy practices. We do not control how TidyHQ processes account data; please review their documentation and privacy policy on tidyhq.com (and linked legal pages there) for details.

Web content and external websites

Our apps may show website content in an in-app browser or webview (for example pages from ballarathackerspace.org.au or other sites we link to). Those pages or linked sites may set cookies, use analytics, or collect information under their own policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites; you should read their policies when you leave our app or follow a link.
