Ballarat Hackerspace

Joining Our Community …

Whether you’re looking to dive into projects or simply want to support us, there are several ways to become part of the Ballarat Hackerspace family. You can join as a Member or as a Supporter.

Members enjoy access to our space, tools, and equipment, and get to participate in workshops, events, and all sorts of activities. Supporters play a vital role in funding our space and its initiatives, and in return, they receive our heartfelt appreciation!

For safety and insurance reasons, all members must be 18 years or older. If you’re under 18, don’t worry—you can still join as a Supporter! Just keep in mind that you’ll need a parent or nominated guardian who is a Member to supervise you when using the space.

Probationary Period

As a new member, you’ll go through a 3-month probationary period. This helps ensure you’re comfortable with how the space operates, understand how to use our tools safely, and can determine if our hackerspace is the right fit for you. The great news is that these three months don’t need to be completed all at once! You can enjoy one month at a time with breaks in between if you don’t need continuous access. Once you’ve completed your three months, you’ll be ready to apply for a part-time or full-time membership.

We can’t wait to welcome you into our community!
